Our Church Can Be Your Home

Men's Ministry

From Dave Dafoe to All my Brothers and my Friends,

Hello, Thanks for reading this my Brothers and my Friends; God has a call on each of our lives to live for Him. Our calls may not look the same or even sound the same but they fit together in a plan that God has for our lives. I want you to know that HE cares for you and will strengthen you as you live for HIM.

Our relationships are a vital part of who we are and how God will use us in His plan. We can either be a help or a hindrance to His plan. I know I have been both! We have been led astray if we believe, as the world teaches, that men can not change, that men do not matter, that being a male is nothing more than a gender choice. Those are lies! Believe in God and His definitions of man and women. Men do not falter, be strong!

Men need to see the evident consequences of not taking their God-given responsibilities seriously. As John Eldredge says in his book Wild at Heart, "Don't ask what the world needs, find out what makes you alive and then do it, because what the world really needs is a man that is alive." Be alive men; BE ALIVE in your worship, in your relationships, in your family, in your church.

The National Coalition of Men's Ministries (NCMM) has on their website the following list that I believe you should read and understand.

Why are we here?

For every 10 men in the average church...
9 will have kids who leave the church
8 will not find their jobs satisfying
6 will pay monthly minimum on credit cards
5 have a major problem with pornography
4 will get divorced affecting 1,000,000 children each year
Only 1 will have a biblical worldview
All 10 will struggle to balance family & work

The numbers are not pretty...
108,000,000 men 15 or older (est. 2003).
66,000,000 men don't know Christ.
Only 6,000,000 men in discipleship.
72,000,000 children under 18. Tonight, 33% of them will go to bed in a home without a biological father.
40% of first marriages end in divorce affecting 1,000,000 children each year.
33% of all children are born out of wedlock. > "It isn't that they can't see the solution. It is that they can't see the problem." - G. K. Chesterson
